Tree Planting 2013

Graduates in the Class of 2013 participated in ISC-Erbil’s first Tree Planting Ceremony on Saturday, June 1, 2013. A tradition for all graduating classes in the SABIS® School Network, the tree planting at ISC-Erbil was the first at the school, which graduates its first seniors on June 8, 2013.

SABIS® Representative in Kurdistan, Mr. Raed Mahmoud, and Dr. Bokhari, ISC-Erbil School Director, along with students of grades 10 and 11 greeted approximately 300 guests as they arrived at the ceremony.
Dr. Bokhari welcomed the guests and shared words of advice with the graduates. Jhyar Diyar and Libby Hasan of Grade 12 addressed the guests and the fellow students. They amused the audience with anecdotes and ‘tales’ involving the graduates.
The celebration culminated in the planting of an olive tree followed by cake cutting, fireworks, and dancing. The ceremony will remain for a long time in the memory of guests and graduates alike.
