ISC-Erbil Students Participate in “Chef’s Day”

Donning chef hats and aprons, KG1 students at the International School of Choueifat-Erbil   took part in “Chef’s Day”.  The activity, which was coordinated by the school’s Student Life Organization (SLO®), was held in the ISC-Erbil cafeteria where students worked together to make pizza and decorate cupcakes.

“The students impressively shared ingredients and worked with one another,” said an ISC-Erbil parent who attended the activity. “While it was a fun activity for them and nice to watch as a parent, it was ultimately a learning experience for the students. They were sharing, communicating, and following instructions surprisingly well for 3-year-olds,” she added.

From stirring together ingredients to kneading dough, the students all enthusiastically played a role in the pizza-making process. Once the pizzas were ready for the oven, they were handed over to the school chef for baking, at which time the students decorated cupcakes while anxiously waiting.

“The students were delighted to share their pizza and cupcakes with their parents at the end of the activity,” commented an ISC-Erbil staff member. “It was a fun day for everyone involved and it ended with students dancing and singing in the middle of the cafeteria with all the parents clapping,” said another ISC-Erbil parent.
